Charity Wallace serves as Managing Director of Global Women’s Issues at U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). She is responsible for DFC’s 2X Women’s Initiative which is committed to empowering women by investing in projects that are owned by women, managed by women, or provide a service that benefits women. 2X also seeks to apply a gender lens to all the projects DFC considers to help ensure women will benefit.

Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. Wallace served as the founder and president of Wallace Global Impact, combining her expertise and experience to drive innovative and effective solutions working with corporations, individuals, non-profits, and foundations. She built cross-sector partnerships that addressed complex global issues, including gender equality, human trafficking, global health, national security, and global aid and development. She worked with organizations on strategic positioning, messaging, and partnerships that will increase their visibility, impact, and effectiveness.

Ms. Wallace was the founding Vice President of the Global Women’s Initiatives at the Bush Institute, and served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to Mrs. Laura Bush. Ms. Wallace developed and launched the initiatives within the Women’s Initiative, setting the vision and managing the policy engagement for the women’s initiatives. The initiatives aimed to improve access to education, health care, and economic opportunity for women and children in Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan. Ms. Wallace served in Bush Administration for all eight years, most notably as Director of Advance for the First Lady and Deputy Chief of Protocol of the United States.

Ms. Wallace earned her master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. She serves on various boards and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
